Self-referral physiotherapy exclusion criteria
- Children
- Under the age of 16
- Under the age of 11 should be referred to community paediatric physiotherapy.
- Housebound patients (either in the short or long term) complete an iSPA referral.
- Respiratory conditions.
- Neurological conditions.
- Long-COVID.
- Post amputation (requires a specialist referral).
- Women’s health problems (including pregnancy related pelvic and/or back pain for up to 1 year post-partum).
- Men’s health problems.
- Patients who have undergone extensive, complicated surgery, as defined by the operating consultant for an orthopaedic or rheumatological condition which requires specialist intervention.
- Patients who have undergone surgery to the area in the last 6 months.
- Wrists and hand assessment and treatment require an OT hand referral.
- Forefoot and toes require a podiatry referral.
- Provide walking aids.
